Fall Write Off
Third Place

When I think of fall, I think of the enticing smell of pumpkin chai, the flavor filling my taste buds as the cozy feeling of being cuddled under a blanket next to the fire floods my mind.

I hear the soft tones of music and the newly turned-on heater in the house. I see warm hand-knit sweaters of varying neutral colors, paired with slippers.

The days shorten as nights become longer making me fear for the frigid winters that I know are soon to come. However, the pumpkins on front porches and an array of leaves on the ground keep me sane.

Holidays float through my train of thought. Thanksgiving and being around family and friends surrounded with food that no one can wait to dig into makes me appreciate the changing of the seasons.

Fall reminds me to stop and enjoy the life and time I am living.
