It is that which no one has seen

Leading to fear masked as love

Guised as free will it has centuries been

But omniscient He claims above

 

Awaiting those who worship in faith

A never faltering love and grace

A penance never paid, a pain never ceased

Tormented forever and ever

 

Love for a promise of deliverance

A promised pardon of perdition

But there is no final severance

Only the walls of an imaginary prison

 

How can one choose freely

If a path is already lain

Except if that power really

Is no more than self-induced pain
