The hard night hits all too well

When hearing one word rung like a bell.

Never in the wildest dreams could this come true. 

The reality sank in like the color blue.

Above all, learning was quite a light.

The memories painted bright.

Here in the world, isolation hit.

The combination of everything was not a good fit. 

“How could this be?”one wondered out loud.

Major accomplishments far from proud.

Isolation didn’t resonate with many.

Their happiness fell short like the size of a penny.  

Reality was, it wasn’t that bad.

Over time, less people became sad.

Now the whole world knows “isolation”

And how it brought people together as one nation.
