The climb
Ava Putman

The morning woke me up,
the breeze called my name
The sky turned light
Pinks, oranges, and yellows
Painted the sky bright
The mountain stood tall and still
Watching me down below
Step by step, I went
Until I reached the top
Looking out, I admired the view
The ocean roared with crashing waves
The green hills stretched out far and wide
And I realized the climb was all worth it
